The dog from the free cartoon dog tutorial. After modeling I printed it on a 3D printer and took this picture.

At first I thought it was just an awesome render! Very cool! i've always wanted to try a 3d printer. How much did it cost to get it "printed"?
|
cool. Looks good also. and I'm also wandering about how much it was. How you found them. etc..
|

3D print information
I'm work at the University of Michigan 3D Lab. One of our services is 3D printing, so the printer is located just across the hall from me.
http://mu3d.ummu.umich.edu/equipment...d_printer.html The price of an object depends on if you are affiliated with the University of Michigan (student, faculty, staff, ...) - the pricelist for those individuals is on the web page. For everybody else more commercial rates apply, because we can not undercut commercial businesses. It depends on the material used, the size of the model (amount of powder used) and detail of the model (time to finish it up). The dog was printed used a gypsy based plaster at a size of 105mm x 48mm x 110mm (4.1" x 1.9" x 4.3"). The price for this model would be $75. If you are interested in a quote contact me through SimpleMaya or use the email address on the webpage. S. |
