Concept Sketches...
 

Hey guys. Can I get your opinions on these two sketches?

This one is my very first attempt at drawing in the technical style. It's a hypersonic airliner.

This is a lightly armed freighter with detachable cargo bay.

Man, I tell you... School, although very educational (ha ha) is a big hinderance. Four years and I've never done anything like this... never had the time to. But I go by Feng's site and read my Art of Star Wars book for some inspiration, and BAM!... Two done in about 4 hours. This stuff is easy now that I've tried it. I'm trying my hand at some environment stuff now, so stay tuned. :D

Strictly from a dynamics point of view, the front lower edge on your plane is too sharp. It would cause turbulence under that front section and slow it down.

But it still looks really cool :D

[icarus_uk]: Please don't tell the pilots that. They may not want to fly it. :p Actually, I had in mind an air ram intake there. Guess I'll try to draw them from other perspectives to give more details. :D

That looks great dave, the markering is very Feng - like. Speaking of Feng, gnomon is releasing some concept art dvd's tomorrow done by Feng, I can't wait to get mine.

Feng-like? Hrmmm. I was shooting for Doug Chiang-like. But I'll accept Feng too. :D That's more of a compliment than you know. Thanks.

As for the videos, I saw that already. Wifey is buying them for me for by B-Day next month. :D:D:D

I would like to see the pics in a better dimension instead of a profile, but so far, the pics lookreally cool! Are you designing the hypersonic airliner for reality or fantasy?

THX1138: Honestly, I did them just to do them. I got a little inspired and out they came. Actually, the airliner started out as something else but that's what it turned into. Sometimes I just go where the lines take me. :D
