Movie.

I want to create a movie at least 5 minutes long. so its going to be long, but i dont want it to be large in file size, but still retain the quality. What file formats or options do i have to create such large movie file which wont affect the size or the production too much?

any tips would be appreciated.

my goal is to make a movie, 5+ minutes,at a resulotion of 640x480 but still keep the file size at a low.

Quicktime and MPEG 4 are good options

I dont like quicktime. It dosent seem to work well with windows. Just like every apple app.

EDIT: Oh, I highly recomend DIVX. It is VERY good, but you do need a codec to play it.

Yep! I second Divx!

Go get the free download of the basic encoder, then, go get a free video app like VirtualDub, (virtualdub.org) and in the output settings for encoding, choose and setup your Divx encoding options, just as you would in Premier or After Effects:)

Should be NICe and small.

An alternative that is hard to beat for file-size savings is to download the free Windows Media Encoding Developer Toolset.

Take your compiled movie from AE, Premier, or VD, and import into the WMVtools app, then tweak away!

Good luck!
