The Director is Perter Jackson, and the author of the original books is JRR Tolkien.

Hi Tolkien,

like NitroLiq & Kurt said... it was done by Weta... If you can get the special edition of LOTR 1 on DVD, I would suggest you to do it... much extra Background material... :)

weta workshop did the physical work (i think its workshop)
weta digital did the digital stuff
