Create Polygon tool
 

Is there a way to build faces using Create Polygons and have each new face automatically be a part of the object they are being built on? I find it very frustrating that each new face is its own object.

there is the append to polygon tool. I normaly just use the create Polygon tool to make one big one. Thin the split poly.. (shrugs.)

or if you want to build out you could use the extrude face tool to build your faces and split from there, then it would automatically be attached to the poly you extruded from
