pixelate
why is every creation i make in maya so pixelated??
ex: http://i10.tinypic.com/2znxpwy.jpg i know lousy example but i just made something simple which gets very pixelated... thanks |
do u mean spike wen u extrude faces or the quality of the pic
1 if its wen extrude u go to poly tools option and turn on keep faces together 2 if its the quality its because thats a preview u need to render with AA on to get the edges smooth |
AA??
whats that? |
AA = Anti Aliasing
stops the edges being jaggered - smooths the off the higher the value the better it will look |
can you please tell me how to render my images with anti aliasing??
it would be nice if u did this |
there 3 buttons for rendering yes??
ok - hover ur mouse over them each one is IPR the other is render this frame and the other is render globals/settings click the settings 1 (its the check board with 2 circles next to it) now a new window pops up in that window click the second tab there should be an option for AA quality set it to ur likings |
is it the 3 to the right here you mean??

Unfortunately there's no "single" way to turn on Antialiasing for renders.
Do you run Mental Ray, Maya Software, Maya hardware, or a third party renderer? Note: If you didn't touch the button to RIGHT of the "IPR" button, then chances are you're on Maya Software. Click on the button to the RIGHT of IPR -- that's "render globals" IE: Options for Rendering. On the popup, click the tab marked "Maya Software". Near the top there'll be a menu -- "AntiAliasing Quality" on "Edge Antialiasing" dropdown menu click "Highest Quality" Under "number of samples" set that higher too (8-16 is uber quality, can go up to 32 though that tends to BLUR things, not just antialias... 4 is decent for quality + speed of render). Multipixel filtering will also help you a bit... but forget it generally... too complicated. To start out in your adventures for Antialiasing --> Just click the dropdown menu to highest quality... leave everything else alone... it should work nicely. |
thanks dann
