Im trying to get rendering down and I dont know why my shadow looks like it does any help?

is it like depth map shadows??.., increase the resolution for depth map shadows in the attribute editor

here I changed it a little bit but the shadow is still fuzzy I dont know what Im doing wrong

i just use the default settings on both maya software and mental ray and couldnt get the fuzzy look.., i forget why its happening.

try resetting the renderer.., try the defaults.., i seem to recall this fuzzy look from somewhere...,

i have to go to col ledge.., ill check it out later.., in the meantime i am sure someone will help.

You probably increased the light radius without increasing the shadow rays.

yeah increase your shadow rays and you should be fine.
