Graphics Board

Im not sure thats the right name. But its one of those pads that has this pen, and when you mouse your pen over the pad, the mouse moves. Artists use it to draw on there computers. Anyway, if you know what Im talking about, and I have the wrong name, then please correct me.

Anywho, I would like to by one of those. Any idea as to where I can find one?? Thanks.

Look online and do a search for Wacom tablets. Best brand of graphics tablets, hands down.

the good ones are more like $400. However, they're pretty nifty: they'll detect where you're holding the pen even when you're not touching the surface and they'll pass pressure information to Maya...

Why would maya need to know how hard your pressing on the tablet?

Well, you get what you pay for with these....

They are worth the price. You can find deals if you look hard enough. If you can afford Maya then these are a drop in the bucket.

I have the Graphire 2 and I think I paid about $80 for it about 10 months ago or so....

I can't remember...

Maya has a feature that will utilize the pressure sensitivity of the graphics tablet in order for you to have more control when modeling or using paint effects.

Yep... for paintFX.

I got my Wacom from Wacom directly, if you get on thier mailing list, they will have referbished tablets at SUPER low prices...

2 years ago, I got my 9x12 from them referbished for around 300 bucks...

not sure if they still do this tho....
