Particles

I need a way to create a particle emiter, have it set so it always follows an object (so if you set it to the tip of a sword, it will move with the tip of the sword), and i seem to be able to crewate the emmit, and make the particles do as i wish in the modeling window. But i cant seem to render them. Im rendering them as cloud(s/w) so they should software render. I used the effects> create fire and attatched that texture created to my particles. Yet is doesnt apear.

How would i go about making them... show up? And how shoudl i attatch it to the sword tip, Group it? Parent? and how.

Also, is there a way to make a texture for the particles thats basically a soft blue glow texture, almost like blue fire.

Thanks to any replies.

hmm, they should show up. Not sure what the difficulty might be there.

You can parent the emitter to the sword

For the emitter: try selecting the upper vertx of the sword, and then 'emit from object' as an emitter.
For the showing up do you have the right time selected, and try creating the fire thing yourself to see if that works. Do all s/w particles not-appear, or all particles in general?
For the bluish tint, if you're making you own, what I recommend, just create a color for the particle shape of the fire, or a ramp if you want a more realistic effect.. and set a higher glow intensity to make it more fire-ish as well.
If you're using the flame effect, try deleting the nodes color and glow intensity, in the hypershade that connect to the particle you're using for your fire ( and replace that with a blue texture, and your own glow intensity you want ). I hope I could help you! :D
