logging maya session or errors?

is there a way to log maya's errors?
like let's say it suddenly crashes completely, is there a way to keep a log of session; in a txt file maybe?.
is there a script for such thing?

thanx Pony. i've been looking for a while myself.
i'm trying to texture head character, but UVeditor crashes maya when i open it.
i think it's an openGL prob.
but i wish there was a way to send errors logs to a .txt file on errors or crashes.

This is a shot in the dark but becouse you have not UV maped yet.. the UV's might be to jumbled for the UV texture editer to handel them.. I would try selecting all the faces on your model and do a plainer maping on them. makeing sure "make a new uv set" is not ticked. and Thin trying to open your UV editor.

it might help. its just a gess at what is cousing the problem though.

still looking for anser to first question..

it was openGL problems. the new stuff from Nvidia are naughty...
so i was to ld to get the 43.25 release, it's pretty stable now.
thanx tho.
but it would be nice to be able to know what goes on in when (if) maya suddenly crashes:beer:
