Tweetytunes - May - Texturing

Right I`m finally back online and ready to go. I`m so looking forward to using Maya for something else than blend shapes.

(We have 32 characters in the movie I`m working on and I`m stuck doing them)

Don`t know what which model yet but leaning towards the full bloke

My steam punk entry will be posted in the w.i.p section later on as I`m so close to finishing that one of and I really want it done

looking forward to it!

well sat through and got it all unwrapped in a day.

Want to try and stick to a game style texture layout.

Splite the model in half and Im going for two 512 x 512 textures.

Going to start to place them in the grids now.

done.

time to start painting but getting very distracted by the show "hero`s"

(sci-fi channel show 6 eps back to back, 2day and 2mo)

so might do it 2mo

saved out at 2048 x 2048 then will shrink them down after finnish painting.

I think Tweety is on a speed challenge..hehe

looking good so far.

not really. With work moving into london I now have to spend 2 hours each way to work each day so can only really work on this weekends and the odd spare night I have.

I miss living ten minites away from work

Tweety I have a question if you don't mind. What is the advantage of going with the 2048x2048 map and shrink it down? Are there any drawbacks?

You sure got him UV'ed quickly. Well done :)

painting the detail is a lot easier on a larger map as it gives you more pixels to work with. You lose a bit when shrinking them down but only a little.

if you get the train tweety you should really look at getting a laptop and spending the time 3D'ing. I did that when I started working an hour's journey away from home and it really helped me to pick up the interface (and to make an hour seem like 10 minutes).

Si

man I wish I could get anything done on the train. Its like wall to wall people on there in the mornings and on the way home. Your very luck if you dont have someone armpit in your face. Sometimes (and only sometimes) I get to play my psp but no room for anything else.

It would be a cool idea though if all those people were not doing what I was doing (going to work)

I don`t know I like the blue but we`ll see. Added more detail and a cape.

I second the liking-the-blue-ness  :p
