Batch Render

When I run a Batch Render, I don't have any way to monitor it to know what's going on, or if it even is working. My Savvy book says to look in my Script Editor, and I have, but nothing is going on there. I am using Maya ver. 5 and my book is ver.4.5.

How does one monitor a batch render?

Thanks Kori

if your rendering out each fram to a bmp or tga file, you can just go look at the last one's and how many are there. If your rendering out a AVI, maybe someone else knows that on. I would not be using the render out to AVI if I could keep from it btw.. not very good quality.

I usually see the progress in the script editor Window > General Editors > Script Editor.

Thanks for the suggestions. The Script Editor tells you when the Batch render starts and when it ends, but it does not tell you which frame it is working on. The only way I have found to do this is to go to the Image Folder and look. It's not very handy, but it works. I was hoping Maya had some way of monitoring which frame the batch render was on. If you are working on a 300 frame batch render, you need to know what its progress is so you can plan out your computer time. I am willing to bet someone out there has a plug-in that would do this.

Thanks
Kori

Not sure why the script editor doesn't track it for you. Does for me.

Right under it there is a "show batch Render" that should show you the current frame that is rendering..

The script editor does tell you what frame it's on, it should say it in the filename of what it is rendering.
