You need to define more of the features. The nose looks like its just blended w/the rest of the face. Same with the eye sockets.

Biggest thing is to use some good references and keep practicing.

Does anyone know how to animate this face? i cat seem to keyframe the face as it moves, i also need advice on eyelids

mtmckinley 22-02-2004 07:21 PM

blend shapes are a popular way of facial animating. Could also use a bone array in the head.

I'm wandering is it poly's smoothed ? or do you have a HiPoly count there and are using artison with the sculpt Poly tool ?

Actually its a single NURBS sphere (with a rather low amount of control points to keep lag down). i used the sculpt surfaces tool for almost every aspect of it

You're making great progress!

I notice you said you used sculpt surfaces. That can work well for farther-off shots, but it's a good idea to practice head modelling that flows along the contours of the head if you want to animate it. This usually means a model that is made outward from the eyes and mouth so that when they are animated the look remains smooth.

Keep it up!

thanx, but do you know where i can learn to animate the head? because the simple way doesnt seem to work for this (transforming the shape and keyframing it)
