Camera Tutorial?

I searched and didn't see anything but does anyone know of a maya camera tutorial? Ive seen many tutorials that touch upon using mayas cameras as more of a byproduct of the tutorial than the tutorial itself.

It would be great of there was a dedicated tutorial outlining perhaps some advanced camera movement techniques and whatnot. Thanks!!

If by camera movement you mean moving the camera in an animation then search for animation tutorials... cameras move just like any other object usually.

Thanks for the reply Benny. Putting "maya camera tutorial" into google is basically what I meant when I said I did a search for it and really didn't find anything. But you're right they do more or less move like any other object I was just hoping for something a bit more specific I suppose. Thanks.

First result of the Google search is a decent tutorial for the basics and the second has some links to more advanced issues including motion path which is what you asked for (though I see now that I can't access it). Fifth result is also a tutorial about moving cameras (http://www.arch.columbia.edu/index.php?pageData=9634/ )

My point is I didn't post that link without actually checking the content... Let-Me-Google-That-For-You is just for fun :p

More specific how? Only animation with a moving camera?
If so, check the link above... And I'm sure others can contribute as well. If not, What exactly do you mean?

Hope this helps,
Benny

I've been looking for help on DoF and lenses and all that fun stuff that you need to know with cameras. I'm sure just looking up instructions on how to use an old manual camera will help with what I need, but not completely sure. Am I thinking along the right lines, use the f-stop and all that stuff like an old film camera?

One of the links Benny was nice enough to provide goes over some DOF controls

My issue seems to be whenever I try to animate a camera it never seems to act how one would expect. THen I end up adding keyframes to fine tune it and then all hell breakes loose, gets jerky and unatural, even after adjusting the curves in the graph editor.

Do most people just go with curves and attach their cameras that way?
