my first car model in maya
i think it came out pretty good :)
after only 5 minutes of rendering :P :p

MattTheMan 09-06-2006 08:57 PM

yes, deffinatly good.

Your render isnt that great though, try enabling Final Gather, (if its not already enabled) and if it is, then set the rays to 300-400.

Also for the HDRI make it emit at LEAST 25 000 photons... 100 000 is optimal.

Good model though

Good modeling, nice wok.

I think that the materials are a bit too reflective, try adjustin the reflections with a ramp to give a better look to the reflections

its a great model redmer.

this car is a bit too reflective, giving it a more plastic feel than metal . and like alot of cars that i have seen here, its hovering.

@13th resisdent.. thnx but i checked the scene and as far as i can see the tires are going through the floor material

Redmer 10-06-2006 05:13 AM

Nice, but as said increase the photons, to get a nicer and more sharp look. Also dude, how much free time you got? You were busy with the mech model, know you have already finished the ferrari, and you were busy with the apache.. Seriously too much free time, don't you got school, work or some other form of education?

I have a lot of spare time too. Do you want to jump on me for it as well? And, last time I checked, work isn't some form of education ;)

Nice renders, but please do as I said in the first post- Final Gather to 300- photons to 100000.

And your model is really good

Right here-

Maya_Student 10-06-2006 04:53 PM

Mattheman: Yes give me your time! Just dress like me and you go to school instead of me, so i can model all day!

And 20 hours in 5 days, that's 4 hours a day. I find that a lot of free time ;)

Redmer 10-06-2006 05:22 PM

thnx matttheman
not if you work from moring 7 o'clock till 5 o'clock in the evening
i'm at interm at company being a system/network administrator
and after the summer i'm going back to school than i even have much more free time :D

MattTheMan 10-06-2006 05:23 PM

Ok, well I think I deserve the free time... I just finished school (for the year, summer vacation now) and I can't work (under 16), and I can't drive. And no, I can't go to summer school, I doubt there's a need to for someone going into 9th grade with a 99.8/100 grade average.

And- redmer- that's cool! My dad is a systems/network administrator too :)
