My Ice logo
 

This is a photo of an ice cube I created in Maya. It is colored using a variety of colored point lights which are inside of the ice cube. There is also a directional light and an ambient light outside of it.
I want to make this cube explode eventually, Is this not a good way to create it? Can you somehow attatch the lights to an object even when it explodes?
If you have any suggestions, please inform me.
