wierd things happened!
 

I seem to have lost the ability to import .ai files. That is, I can import them and they are listed in the Hypergraph but there is nothing in the persp. view or any of the panels. I have also lost the ability to import 3ds models. I tried re-loading the plug-in through the plug-in manager and tried re-installing but the plug-in manager shows an error:0 (3dsImport) message. Exactly where should the 3ds plug in reside in Maya 7.0 on a Mac? The usual place /Users/Shared/Alias/maya/plug-ins does not seem to be working.
