How do you render frames into an avi movie?

Yea been reading...

Sounds like the way Maya creates AVI's sucks and its better to just render out the invidual frames to make an animation with a 3rd party program.

i like the 3DSMax rendering way... its so easy and cool
well, rendering in maya isn't as easy as i thought
