can't map alpha of file to projection node

I have a targa image file as a projection on a poly plane. It displays the texture fine, but does not include the transparency of the targa file. How do I include the transparency of the targa file?

I tried connecting the targe file node to the material node, and that does make the transparency work, however when I move the projection around (which translates the texture on the poly plane) the alpha remains stationary, while the texture moves. I obviously need to move the transparency along with the texture perfectly.

So, obviously, to do this, one would logically think to connect the out alpha of the file node to the alpha of the project since the color of the file node is connected to the color of the projection node. Only problem is that I couldn't find a basic alpha in on the projection node. It has alpha gain and alpha offset, but those don't seem to work.

Suggestions?

try mapping your outAlpha to transparencyR, transparencyG, or transparencyB of your material. (or heck, all three just to be safe :P)
