First work. Raptor WIP
1 Attachment(s)
Hi, here's my first thing done in maya. I think i'm ready for texturing it now.
I think of creating a scene where it's chasing a prey or something. |
Oh man that looks so good, have you ben modeling in some other 3d program or...
|
Thanx.
No, first model ever, but i've watched many tutorials on modeling. |
That is awesome work than, did you have tutorial for that t-rex? Witch modeling process did you used?
|
I haven't got the T-rex tutorial. I have the spider tutorial, it's great, learned a lot from it.
I started with nurbs, then nurbs to polys and polys to sub-D. It's now in polys and smoothed. |
Do you mean on simply maya spider tutorial? Where have you find referenc picture?
|
Yes, the simplymaya spider tutorial. Reference pictures are hard to find. I only got one blurry picture for the sideview, no frontview. But there are enough pictures to learn a bit about the anatomy of the raptor.

Hey there friend, its looking realy nice now but i think if you could play with that raptor in Z-brush it would look even nicer!
|
Hey Ankalagon. I downloaded the z-brush demo but i can't import objects with it. Thx for the info anyway.
|
Very, very nice work.... I cant believe this is your first ever model.
|
Thx, well it is my first model. A good tutorial does wonders.
I,m now trying out a displacement map. First time i rendered it, it came out more like an elephant. Does a displacement map work the same way as a bumpmap with that difference that you see it from whatever angle you view? |
You must export object from maya in OBJ format and then import it in z-brush, download some tutorial from net!
|
the demo of Zbrush doesn't let you import objects only rthe full version and the spider image planes can be found on the simply maya tutorial forum under a title like spider images
Looking good for a first model  |
