Auto dirting

Has anybody (or is there a way) to make a shader that auto-weathers your model like this on maya?

It kinda looks like a reverse SSS. This looks like its adding darker values to the shader when it starts to find more concave geo. EI making it darker in the cracks. Insted of makeing it lighter on the outside edges.

well yes a reversed SSS with a lightsphere as on gi_joe should do, or making it only geometry dependant as style of the normalmap generator that is on drone.org should do the trick... Now, im clueles on how to setup the thing...:) :?
