Snakes

Can someone help me with gettint a snake to follow a path? When i try to animate a snake on the path it doesnt follow it exactly. I was wondering if there was something i can do to make the snake follow the path better. the snake is made of nurbs and i have it attached to a nurbs curve path with the path follow lattice involked.

i would not suggest to make the snake move head first. a snake moves sideways and a little bit forwards multiple times bending the body back and forth while doing that. so an idea for realistic snake would be to group the snake to itself, and bind the locator of the group to the path, and then only animate the bending of the body independently from the snake group. if you move the locator of the group to the bottom, then the snake wont penetrate the floor, if the path is layed out at floor.

Its not sidewinding. its moving foward out of high grass. but when i make the path and bind it to path, with a path follow controller, the latice follows the path well but the snake doesnt. do i need to increase my latice divisions maybe?

Hard to figure out without seeing it. Try incresing the lattice first. If that don't work attaching the snake and the lattice to the path.
