Lovely character Kurt!

Have just finished your Basic Human and Cartoon Dog, really enjoy your modeling style.

Do you produce a skeleton for all your models? I would love to do a skeleton and bind fom my Franky and dog...You don't have any skeleton tuts on here do you? Maybe do a short walk cycle for both, throw ball and fetch!

Cheers!

more time to start refining a bit.. still a lot more to add.

If i do put a skeleton in the model it just to get a rough pose i haven't done any rigging for animtaion in a while now

Kurt i have one question which deformer did you use for the shield here is picture what i mean by that ... shaping it oval i mean.

Chirone 02-04-2009 08:24 PM

i would think you could just take a cylinder and cut it in half

but i'm also guessing he just used a NURBS plane

ColdWave 02-04-2009 09:24 PM

I saw in 3Dsmax there are deformers where you can easily shape your polygonal plane in this shape without pulling vertex.... ? I always pull vertex and that consume a lot of my time and it's not very accurate...

Chirone 02-04-2009 09:55 PM

maybe you could use a lattice or if you have 2009 the soft selection thingy

Kurt 02-04-2009 10:56 PM

I just made a line with ep curve tool then duplicated flipped upside down and then lofted.

ColdWave 02-04-2009 11:02 PM

Yeah i have 2009 but where is this soft selection tool ?

Kurt : Is there a way to be done this with any kind of deformer ? I saw it in Max so we must have smth like their tool

Chirone 03-04-2009 12:10 AM

it's a new option for your standard transformation tools

either toggle it in the tool's attributes, or hit 'b', hold b and middle mouse drag to change the radius of influence

Kurt 03-04-2009 01:03 AM

Im still using 2008.. and generally dont use many of the things like deformers
