Round Table

After trying many things, manipulating lights, learning how to model n stuff, this is my real FIRST rendered picture of something Ive done.
:)
but I want it to look more real how can i do it?
im using maya 6, mental ray
i tried tesselation with mental ray under windows/rendering/mental ray
but still edges don't look smooth enough
what else can i do? else than changing tesselation in every single model

:)

I like that table and chairs, but that ceiling light look precarious. I don't think I'd want to sit under it. :)

The ceiling also seems very high.

are there lights in the light model? The scene seems to be pretty evenly light like just an ambient light.

As for the edge issue, have you turn up the antilaliasing option in the render globals?

yup thank you for replying :)

Yes i turned anti-alising in the render globals
probably there is an option to improve antialiasing and i don't know it  ??

about the ceiling, ok i will lower it more lol and any suggestion to make it look better? or did you mean the ceiling lamp?

and yes i am using two ambien lights

they are not too intense, probably they are too close?

i don't know exactly how to place them

one is outside the "room" close to the window

the other one is in the center of the room, just below the ceiling lamp, could that be the problem for the edges??

:)

thank you for helping

hahaha yup indeed the ceiling lamp does look precarious lol
i will improve it

i just did it in 5 mins, some extrude and duplicates
lol

im sorry, no i dont have lights in the light model

im still learning eheheh and when i put lights let say spot lights n try to use fog, it doesn't turn out very well
it turns out to have too much shadows and the spot lights' fogs dont look too good
im still learning how to use the spot lights and the intensity graph but i havent done anything successful with it yet
