Animating a fish

I'm trying to animate a fish for a project I'm doing at the moment but it needs to be able to swim like a fish and dance like a human so I am having problems animating it. Does anybody have any ideas on I could do it?

Get some video of fish and observe it, and some referance of the type dancing you want to use.

And watch "Finding Nemo" :D

Use inverse kinematics and joint tool

I think that expressions would come pritty handy in your situation!
Not sure how exactly, I sholud try it out...

Try with Spline IK, use control objects, write down some expressions to get the wavey motion.

Is this cartoony like fish or the real one?

Ok....another question:

Is it like Finding Nemo or Shark tale kind of fish...Shark tale are much more closer to human motion!

Well in both cases it shouldn be very hard to rig it!

hey, for the dancing feet/tailfin you might just use 2 seperate branches of joints on each side of the tailfin, just a thought.
