Apple buys AW?
 

There was speculation a while ago about AW being bought out by Apple. Silicon Graphics owns AW would this mean Apple buys Silicon Graphics?

If such a thing were to happen what would the implications be for Maya? As a Mac fan and with the new IBM 970 chips on the horizon would this make Maya on the Mac a more delightful experience?

I asked my connection at ALias about this not so long ago... and here was his reply

I don't even want to speculate. I hope they will never purchase AW and/or SG. It would be a death sentence to the Apps. Just look what happened to RAYZ, Chalice and Shake for example...

Where is the Windows version? Heck, I can't even purchase the old Windows version...

It would be ANOTHER death sentence for an awsome app.

I won't happen in the near future I'm sure, but if it ever does, I would jump ship back to max:)

Half the world hate M$ and the other half hate Apple! Are Apple as aggressive as M$? I always thought that Apple were the innovators and M$ nicked there ideas. Horses for courses I suppose, people pick their OS and shutup! :D

I just find using and configuring Macs easier... Ooops I said I was goona shutup.

To be honest they are a pain in the ass... I cant for the life of me imagine why someone would waste all that money on a heap of crap like that when they could buy 3 decent pcs for the same cost :saywhat:
