graphics card upgrade
Hello,
I want to upgrade my graphics card from ATI FireGL Z1 and here are my options: EVGA GeForce 7800GS 256MB GDDR3 AGP or ATI RADEON X1950 PRO 512MB Computer stats: _ACPI Multiprocessor PC _Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.0 GHz _Asus P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard _4 GB of RAM _500 Watt ATX Power supply _Windows XP Pro, V2002 What would you recommend? Thank you |
don't buy an agp card:beer:

Bit up the creak if its all your motherboard can accept...
I would go with Nvidia, never had a problem with them, but I have had probs with ATI's the 1650's and the 1300's (I think) wight maya. |
I could be wrong but i have an ati radeon 1950 xtx and it's a pci-e card so unless they've made an agp version , my previous comment is a little less up the creek :p

i see...
thank you all so much for your help here's the next question: When buying a video card primarily for maya and after effects use, which stats (video memory, core clock speed, memory clock speed, memory bandwidth) are more important? thank you |
