Guns

hello,
Calling this finished since there's other things I've got to mover onto. Happy with the model, semi-happy with the materials and presentation. Some of the materials have came out wrong somehow (the grey parts on the m4 for example) but I can't really spend any more time on in. Crits and comments welcome. cheers gubar |
That looks cool, not sure about the shaders on the shotguns though. And whats with you and guns lol geez:p
|
yeah - nice job - the shaders do need a bit more work - it just looks a bit like every thing's come right out of the box - i think you need to vary the spec a bit more across the surface. :)
i like the mat - how did you do that - is it a procedural? |
Thanks for the replies guys. Texturing and material work is something I really haven't done that much off and it's still pretty difficult. As you say arran it's trying to get rid of that brand new look.
Gect - yeah I know the whole guns thing, think it's time for me to move on. Just made one and liked and it became a habit. Arran - cheers, the mat is just a texture file (2046 x 2046) with the colour tweaked in photoshop. Just plugged the same file straight into the bump and it came out fine. I've got loads of similar fabric textures from a bundle I got from somewhere. cheers gubar |
Some scratches would look good.

Hey Gubar!
This looks really nice. Some of the materials are better than others, but the modeling is great! |
Thanks for the comments guys.
I've just printed this image in colour and high quality but it has come out way darker than it appears on my monitor. Wondering whether the print or my monitor settings are the issue - is the image sufficiently lit on your monitors, can you see the detail on the shotgun pump and small gun? Also what is a good way to calibrate your monitor so that you know your work is looking like it should? cheers gubar |
it looks fine on my monitor - i'm not sure if mine is calibrated though.
|
OK cheers arran, maybe just the print.
|
what's the printer you were printing off?
how many ink cartridges does it have? what is the paper you were printing on? i think they all have weights on the final print and good work on those models. they are awesome! |
