hi question ..

haven't started working on this .. but i was wondering if someone could help me out with some info

what would be the best way to make a film strip?

model a spiral and add texture? or is there a better way?

thanks in advance for any info, much appreciated

Maybe model the film flat and texture it, then apply some animation deform to it?

hi,
i think you should first create a poly plane, then with the cv curvetool create a spiral .
move the finished spiral in front of one of the edges of the polyplane, select an edge, shift select the spiral then use the extrude command(make sure you set the curve direction of the spiral the right way).
anyways i hope this helped

Use a nurbs plane, the uvs are already done for you and are condusive to the surface, meaning the uvs will follow any form of deformation without really getting distorted like a poly would

What's wrong with how it is now? I like it a lot! if you don't think I'm right, then I'll recommend the birail tool. It works wonders!!

I depends if you want a still image or create an animation. These two options could present different ways of creation.

You make a image where black is opaque and white is transparent (and grey is semi-transparent) and add that to the transparency attribute in your material.
