Learning

Hi

To speed up the learning proces I have to choose between
some options. What do you all prefer?

1. A Dvd from Gnomon 3D or the four dvds from Digital Tutors
or
2. A book, what book then ?

Thank you !!
Bart

Re: Learning

it depends on how much you already know.

i suggest you first do the tuts provided with maya. and if you master the gui a bit, then it is time to spend money on other training material - but dont expect wonders, you still have to try it out yourself. so you can read as much as you want, and watch movies as much as you want, unless you do it in maya you never learn anything. if you happen to have maya 4.5, the video tuts are very good to get you started with the gui.

hope that gets you started

Another good learning tool for Maya is "Maya 4.0 Fundamentals"

Also the maya tutorials from 3dlinks.com

Hope that helps :D

oh the maya 4.5 fundamentals will be out soon as 2nd edition from 4.0 fundamentals, so maybe good to wait as it covers the same as 4.0 and adds some 4.5 stuff. it should still work with 4.0 and lower, but you get a free preview on 4.5.

well, i have 4.5, so i wait for the 2nd edition to come out :)
