Computer Advert
 

Hi everyone.
I have to create a tv advert were a computer comes alive and starts dancing on the table.
I have taken a photo of the kitchen just for now and placed it in that.
Going to model some hands and legs next.
Dont think im going to worry about make a mouse and keyboard as i can use real images in the tv shot.
The mouth and eyes are going to be animated on the lcd.
Not sure how to go about that yet. Probably some sort of 2d render.

did you match the camera setting in maya to that of the camera you took the photo with?

Na i didnt.
Took it with my mobile phone.
But i will do when i do the real footage.
Do you think it looks wrong?

Done some arms and legs, let me know if you have any idea's of improving them.

I'm not sure about the arms, I think it'd be more convincing if the arms had hinges at the elbow, and I think the LCD needs a few bevels, right now its a bit sharp looking.

Might try a few differnt ones. Planing to render it out as a vector

Changed the face. Looks much better now.
guess will move onto some rigging.

hey its coming along, are you just using default lighting at the minute or have you tried to match the lighting?

Also your surface top looks a bit too reflective.

The first face actually seemed a little creepy lol. And yeah Hammer is right, and the reflections are crystal clear which makes it look abnormal.

Yea the lighting but hasnt worried me cause it was only a temp background. I will take some photos of the real scene today.
I just threw in the floor to render out. So that wont even be there.
Have created a test animation and will upload it tonight.

i think the second face is also creepy (but not nearly as much as the first)

mainly because its left eye doesn't look like it's pointing in the middle and it kind of makes it look like a pedophile... ;)

i think maybe you could also make the inside of the mouth black?

Changed it to black inside the mouth. Does look better. Do you like the glasses? think it will help to add some expression since he has no face :)
