Jagged texture lines

Ok, my problem is with a bump map. Since I would like smooth rounded edges. I cannot have the jagged lines in the orginal picture of the bump map. Pic attached of problem. Who exactly do I fix this?

You need to blur it. Get some gradient between the black and white. You can do it in Photoshop (or whatever you've got) or you can try adjusting the PRE FILTER settings located in the file node for the bump map (I think).

Not sure if thats what yer asking. If you want a smooth separation between the 2 values (no jaggies) then you need to start with a higher resolution.

for a start.... jpgs as textures? :shakehead Jpegs introduce artifacts when they compress thus you will get crap in your textures when you render.

what are you trying to bump there? there's nothing really in the texture that will give you much of a result...
