Hello folks,

I want to make a short animation of a disco dancing robot, here is my basic design. It's essentially a modified version of the blue robot from the foundation manual. I really need to practice with rigging and all that stuff, hence this project. I'll post progress as and when,

Cheers,

Mat.

lol looks nice!you probably could add some more details on his chest but i really like the design.keep it up, cant wait to see it textured!

This looks like it will turn out well. Keep it up!

(Oh, I'm not sure about the render colour you're using. I don't think it allows the viewer to see all the details, but I guess that's just me and my glasses talking) :D

Thanks for your comments,

Mc-fleury, I did think about adding more detail to my model but I decided against it, I just want a very simple model for this one.

Shadeblade, I don't think it is your glasses my model really has very little detail to see but for future reference I will use a different colour.

This is where I'm at now,

cheers,

Mat.

That is looking cool almoast beyond words, if you can manage to get some clean fluid animation in there then it's going to look imence.

:D

Hello again &

thanks for the positive feedback I can't promise Jacko but hopefully the finished piece will live up to your expectations.

Here's an update, he's a fully posable Fro-Bot now, yay! It was a steep learning curve for me as I've never rigged a figure myself, I've only ever used final rig which is a very handy tool but it's nice to know how things really work.

take it easy,

Mat.

Nice, maybe could do with a slight bend in right arm.

Just a monor thing on a very cool model.

:D

I see what you mean, it does look a little stiff. I'll sort out the pose properly when I come to animate. Next on the list, though, is to make a simple scene for him to dance in.

Cheers,

Mat.

DJ booth, flashing dance floor, disco ball.

Maybe even some spectator bots.

:D

happymat27 27-01-2006 08:33 PM

I rekon you've just about hit the nail on the head there, disco-tastic!

Stay tuned,

Mat.

Hello again.

I've been a bit busy of late but I've managed to get my Fro-Bot to move a bit. The render is not brilliant, the lighting is terrible but it is just a very quick test to get an idea of how he will look.

Has anyone got any idea how to automate a flashing dance floor, I am totally stumped.

Take it easy,

Mat.
