B-17G
1 Attachment(s)
Hey everyone, this is my WIP of a B-17G that i have been working on during my spare time since April. I've done alot of research trying to make it as acurate as possible. I think the mesh is abit low poly but I think it still looks pretty good when I add the bump texture. I'm thinking about maybe building the interior as well.
Any criticism is encouraged! |
hey looks cool man, i think it does show its low polyness around the curve in the tail section. Texture-wise i would say it needs some grime etc and i think the anti-aliasing settings could be notched up. A nicer environment would make nicer reflections in the glass which would look cooler.
good so far tho :) |

Thanks!
yea, I've had some trouble with the tail, I might have to redo the edge or smooth it out which will take some work. also I dont have the glass shader set up for the windows yet, its actually just a lambert shader right now, but i still have ALOT of work to do on this edit: in the First pic I dont have the glass shader but in the of the attachments I do |
nice work so far, what are those red things in your last picture?
i like the propellers, they look really sweet how did you make your textures and the rivots? do you have a bump/normal/displacement map on the wheels? that's some funky edge flow you got there in the plane, looks almost like it's a spider web lucky it's a hard surface i guess |
Chirone:Thanks for your comments!
the red things are just part of the exterior layer, the engines, wings, and body all should be red but since I'm still working on them I havnt added them to that layer yet. I first used the 3dpaint tool to outline the green and grey areas on the plane, and did some more work with the tool creating the difuse, normal, and bump map. The bump map I had to edit in photoshop which took, a very, VERY long time. Yes, there is a normal, bump, and diffuse for the wheels. Are you talking about the wings edge flow? |

Hey everyone, its been a long time since i posted up some pics but I have been working on this project.
I was able to smooth out the entire frame of the fueselage without to much trouble of remapping the uv's. Also since last time, I have finished all of the textures for the model And I also created another version of the color map that has a different emblem and is brown rather than green. http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/886/491409.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/706/b1791409.jpg http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/5682/391409.jpg http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/5447/291409.jpg |
