wraping problem...
Hi,
I want to animate a character… But the problem is that the character is made by sub-d…and in conclusion, after binding it to the bones, to correct the weights or to position the character in different posts it’s very difficult because it’s working really slow… So, my question is… how can I wrap a low poly character made it from my sub-d character, to move and adjust that low poly character (work’s much faster - instantly) and the results to be retrievable on the sub-d character. Because I’m newbie in Maya please give me detailed explanations…: p Thanks. |
the technique is called indirect binding
ur subd character should have a proxy (a cage) that u used to model the thing, im pretty sure u can just bind this cage to ur skeleton |
Yeah Nem.. you can bind the poly proxy mode to speed it up....

Hi there,
maybe try this tut. I also read in the Maya 4.5 online docs that binding a SubD in proxy mode can lead to problems with the mesh........ here is a tut that uses a wrap deformer to drive a subD mesh. It also outlines how to 'model' skin deformations using blendshape and Set Driven key. http://www.optidigit.com/stevens/rigtut.html this guys girls are AMAZING!!!!!!!! Any problems with this don't hesitate to contact me jhooper3d@hotmail.com re Jim |
Thanks Jim for the link...
