Old game char redesign - Tesse (lowpoly)
Hi guys
There a really looong time I didn't post on SM. But These days I met some good guys from here at CGTalk, and they asked to me, "hey why don't you post at SM anymore?" Then I figured out I shouldn't have stopped :) This is a lowpoly model I'm doing. It's for a challenge in a Brazilian CG forum, www.3d4all.org. We have to make a redesign of a character of an old game. I chose a character called Tesse, from the arcade fighting game "Waku Waku 7". Follow some images of the project. The original character. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag.../tesse_ref.jpg My concepts about her. The first one is older. I'm showing just because of the colors. But now I'm following the second one. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...se_concept.jpg http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...ew_concept.jpg Her mesh. It's about 6.8 k triangles. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...ly/wire_05.jpg Thanks Arran and THX1138 for the encouragement. :) |
There goes some shots of her textured.
No lights, Maya viewport. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_05.jpg http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_06.jpg MR renders. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_08.jpg http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_10.jpg And a close, without and with lights. http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_11.jpg http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_12.jpg Crits, comments or suggestions are welcome. |
Superb concept sketches and modeling of the Idea, no crits at the moment!!! Damm fine!
Is it a low poly of high poly challenge? would like to seethe link to your thread on there. |
:attn: :attn: :attn: :attn: :attn: OMG, i missed you, lol
i was like "did that guy whos name i cant understand die or something?" lol idk, ANYWAY Awesome model! no crits, lol |
gster123: Thanks man. This is just low poly, we are supposed to do a game model for the contest.
There's no individual threads there :eeek2: all the constestants are posting in a unique thread.. what make things a bit confuse sometimes. But you can see the whole process on CGTalk, I'm posting there too. http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?p=4081004 Joopson: Hahaha, I never imagined that somebody in this world would miss me. Thanks! I haven't die yet, I can't until I reach a great level of skill on 2d and 3d. Then I'll be able to die and rest in peace, cause I reached my goals. No ups by now, but they will come soon. |
What is the max poly count for models in this contest
|
10000 tris, with 2x 1k color maps, 2x 1k specular maps, 2x 1k normal maps and 2x 1k glow/any other effects maps.
The polycount on my picture is 12,5 k, but is because her geometry is duplicated there. She has about 6.3 k tris. |
ohh nice. good job. i was curious because i think i read this comp is making low poly for the ps2 engine which im curious about. anyways keep it up

There goes a new version of her eyes. More human and sexy, but still dark and evil.

Very nice work man. Really liking the the texture/colours, can see you've put a lot of fiddly paint work in. I reckon the eyes would look better if they didn't look as bloodshot, but that's just my opinion. Still a great model.

Superb man, no crits at all!

Thanks for your comments guys, and sorry for delay on answer.
There goes some rigging I did, as well as the weapon's texture. Pose is provisional, I'll think in something better later. And rigging.. well, I'm not a master of rig, So any advices are welcome. Weapon texture http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_14.jpg Pose http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_15.jpg Slightly diferent angle http://www.amauriilustra.com.br/imag...y/Tesse_16.jpg |
her weapon came out really nice. im in love with that last render man
|
Hi Amauri!
Your texturing has improved leaps and bounds since last I saw your work (and it wasn't bad back then either). The proportions on this model are perfect. The final version of the red eyes is my slamdunk favorite over the two previous. Comping your concept sketch over an old paper texture is top notch as well. Good to see you are still around! -Dave |
99GsTurbo: Thanks man, I'm very glad with this!
swankymonkey: Hi Dave! there's a long time since my last post here. I hope everythig is going well with you. I learned a lot of things during last year, and I expect to make really good pieces from now on. I'll be posting here, to receive some feedback from you and the other good guys. Mantain always an eye on my website too. ;) |
