Samurai Sword

I have been doing this for quite long and now it appears I've come to a partially satisfying result

Sorry I cant show the wire right now

Comments, suggestions will be appreciated

...damn one has so much to learn... it seems almost impossible to acquire it all

*note

The text on the blade means Simurai but its written in cyrilic
As friends call me Simu I transformed it in Simurai since I am very fond on them and their swords :))

RubberChicken 09-10-2004 01:47 PM

MainlineX 09-10-2004 10:57 PM

Yeah, very nice work. :):)

t3logy 10-10-2004 05:16 AM

Excellent workmanship.

Simo 10-10-2004 01:48 PM

Thanks for the warm words :)

As for the "kissaki" (tip of the blade), you wouldnt want to see it just now :)

regards

'kissaki' hmmm cool word! another word added to my speaking ;) but nice sword! the thing that I like the most is the texture on the handpeace....is that called 'kissassi' ?

Billy_Cat 11-10-2004 05:52 AM

This is not a photography forum!

Jk.. very nice!

Zyk0tiK 11-10-2004 06:07 AM

That is beautiful. very nice indeed!

ckyuk 11-10-2004 08:54 PM

What happened to that jaw-drop they had in the smilies? I opened this thread expecting to see another noob who has picked a sword because they thought it was easy, so you can imagine my reaction when i saw this beautiful piece of workmanship. I love it. :D

Although i don't think any of the above renders should go in the gallery, but i do think the sword should, it just needs a better camera angle in my opinion. I have a feeling they were choosen so we couldn't see the tip. :)

RubberChicken 11-10-2004 09:42 PM

Maybe it has no tip... du du du du *shocking music*

Simo 12-10-2004 12:17 PM

The hilt itself made of rayfish skin is called "tsuka"
Then the wrapping would be called "tsukamaki" not kissassi :)

Its true I've hidden the tip but I will work on it

Thanks again for the nice words. I put these at another Bulgarian forum and no one ever said a thing...

Billy_Cat 20-10-2004 09:56 PM

how did you get that nice chrome look?

Customwing 20-10-2004 11:52 PM

Incredible!

I am only new to this forum and new to Maya. First thing I checked out was your sword. As a martial artist and practicing swordplay with a katana that is possibly one of the most beautiful things i have ever seen!

misfit4GOD 22-10-2004 06:07 AM
