Cut Faces Help
 

Hey,
I'm trying to cut some faces, I'd like to cut two faces on either side of an object I've made. Cutting both at the same time isn't a problem, but getting them...dynamically I guess you could say... is hard. Id like to cut a V shape into both of them, and using the free form cut tool is just too compicated, is there any simply way to do this? If you need a picture, let me know.

Can you use the "Split Poly" tool?

These are faces, not poly's. And I need it to be symetric. I dont want to sub-divide the poly yet because I'm still extruding faces out for the main shape.

That's what I was thinking, also. If you use the split poly tool to split your original faces into the "V" shape, you can just delete the faces you don't need. Look at the small image I've attached and you can see what I mean. I split a poly cube to form the "V" shape.

You do realize that this statement makes no sense at all, right? Faces are components of polygons. Anyway, get the rough shape done (your extrusions and whatnot), then start splitting for detail.

Eh.. Sorry ;) This is the newbie forum after all. My problem is however, getting it to be symetric on two different faces. I'll post a picture when I return from work.

After much trial and error.. I think I've got it. I also now have a good grasp of the split poly tool. Thanks guys ;) I'll be sure to post a finished image when it's done!
