added back fins.

you might want to find some images of actual hammerheads, it kinda looks like you're doing it straight off your head which is never a good idea.
lol i kno what they look like. like i said i wasnt trying to make an actual hammerhead. just a creature like 1. as if it were mutated.

ok here is a pic of it under the water. but the ocean i created only 2d. how do i make it 3d
any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Maya 6 has a nice ocean in it, just use that one, its very easy to animate waves to. you can find lots of tutorial online, I dont know if SM has one yet... hint* hint* ;)
no see that ocean is only 2d. i cant go "into the water" just through it
O, in that case you want it so that when you're camera goes through the water it changes to an underwater look?
Im not too sure how to do this in Maya yet... but you can make an event that can add a blue color filter to the camera at what frame number's you want under water. should work... or ask a pro ;) |

Shark tail fins are vertical as they are not mammals - ie whales. sj |
ok u all listen. im not going for an anamotaly correct fish here. just something customly made. and yea i want the camera to go into the water
Well then what's the point of the work? Are you going for a good model, realistic water, photoreal textures? What? Why don't you just stick a sphere in there?
i already told u. i have my model. its made. its there. im just trying to make it so when the camera goes into the water its still in the water. the water in the picture is only 2d.
sjlocke: The point of the work is to get the shark to appear like it's swimming in the ocean, so let's keep the comments geared toward that subject and try to be more respectable. Thanks. :)
gohan: I've got a nice tutorial on that subject that I can't find at this moment. When I do I will post it here for you. However, you may have to create two seperate scenes. One with the light as it is above the water and one with the light as it is below the water. Then, in After Effects, you'll have to composite the two and set the blend to make it appear as though the camera dips below the surface of the water. Stay tuned. :) |
