ipod nano

I modeled this ipod using curves/nurbs. Any advice on improving this model would be helpful.
Thanks! |
Cheers
Well done. Very nice model. :) You could texture that white button thing. http://images.tomshardware.com/2006/...nano_green.jpg |
Nice work,
how have you lit the image? I'd lose the reflection on the ground plane and to finish it you really need the images on the dial thing. Take it easy, Mat. |
I found a mistake:
The lower case under the round button is too small. It should be bigger as you can see on the picture of the green ipod that I posted. http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/4...dnano03jh2.jpg |

Well thanks! for your reply's, I did some more work on the ipod. Here's an update... Im not to concerned with the rendering, lighting. Im more interested in the model itself, correct geometry & of course any ideas to improve. Thanks! again for taking the time to look at my model.

must say that the texture for the click wheel looks too pixelated compared to the screen. maybe look into anti-aliasing your click wheel texture or something... also check to make sure you've got the same font that apple uses to ensure that you've got an accurate texture.
one other small gripe is: lower your render resolution. you have your ipod centered in a rather large render, when the whole model takes up somewhere around a third at best of your entire render. either render smaller and zoom in, or shrink your image down in photoshop after rendering. (the former would be preferred, as most people don't want to see lots of background, just lots of the model you're showing off) |
if you need a high-res pic of the button, I found one:

As above but one more thing - sort the spelling on Extras! :headbang:
|
It's not looking bad - maybe a little too clean at the moment.
also... post smaller pictures!! |

Great work. The "hold" button, is completely silver metal though. And for the ipod mini, you should add a transparent brush metal texture to the body. The ipod mini (the nano and the original ipod does have a plastic surface but not the mini) looks like its made of plastic. But besides that, great work!
