VIDEO COMPUTER GAMES SOFTWARE

Hey everyone

I wonder if anyone can help me out. I am a Maya user on the apple macintosh and I'd like to learn how to make 2D and 3D computer games kinda like the stuff you see on Xbox and Playstation and even the old consoles like the Mega Drive.

I would like to know what software is used for games development on the mac. Also software that is compatible with Maya files.

Hope people can help, can only find PC related software on google.

Thanks

I don't think there is much, if at all any, Software Development Kits for Game Creation for the MAC ( unless u install windows on it :p).

I have been able to find:

http://www.idevgames.com/
http://www.apple.com/games/articles/...buildingtools/
(this one lists torque as one you can use, but through personal experience it is 99% incompatible with the major 3D packages, due to the file formats it uses internally. Try it if you will, but I ended up more stressed that any one person should be :))
http://developer.apple.com/games/gameenginesonmac.html
http://makemacgames.com/

These were to top ones I found, but tbh. most games development are done on PC with assets created on MAC and PC as the mb/ma files will work any of the PC, MAC and Linux platforms.
