unfolding UV's
 
Is there a trick to unfolding uv's?
I'm having quite a hard time doing it...

sure...
I'm trying to unfild the head of my character, but I cant manage to lay out the uv's in a recognizable format...
I'd like to seperate the face from the top of the head, and the back of the head, but that doesn;t seem to work, using the cut uv's tool...

I hope that explains it...

I've had GREAT luck doing this kind of thing using Danny's UV tool melscripts!

VERY easy to use, and FAST too.

The idea is to select orthographic views of your geometry, and assigning shaders and projections to those sections of faces.

Then, in the uv editor window, watch the layout magic of his toolset happen automagicly:)

Then, all you gotta do is sew the sections together with minimal tweaking:)
