Chris Jones' The Passenger
 

I know quite a few people may have already read about this, but thought I'd share it for those of you who haven't yet seen it.
It's a short (7 min) animation that took this guy 8 years to make, and won him an award in Australia.
Absolutely excellent in my opinion, got me motivated to get modelling and studying again!

The quality isn't great, but I for one will be getting it on dvd, which he sells from his website. Gotta support each other where you can!

wow, thats dedication! if i had done it, it might have only been 148 seconds rather than 7 minutes.

But was it worth it?

He certainly did a good job, and I am sure he will get adopted by Pixar or something

Agreed, he did a fantastic job. But i would go nuts if that's all I had to show for 8 years of work. I'm guessing he had other projects he worked on too. Nonetheless...very impressive indeed.

No... I haven't either... although Wikipedia did bring up something about a guy who was good at foosball. I guess that does take commitment.

Lol! Billy Pappas is an artist from Newyork, did an extremely detailed portrait of Marilyn Monroe, that is almost life size.
Another person who dedicated a lot of time to a single project!

haha thats him, i think he is from baltimore tho. his portrait is really amusing... its good and really detailed and what not, but the subject matter is all wrong. so played out and boring.

Born in Newyork I believe, then moved to Baltimore at a later date, not sure at what age though. Yeah, I would've picked something a little more interesting but each to their own I guess!

Just found out he was born in Newyork, but grew up in Baltimore, so I guess he's pretty much from Baltimore then!
