nice job but remember real things are not perfect, and thats looking a little a perfect to me, but thats ten times better than I can do. ( I'm a noob)

Thanks guys ;] gotahale u have a very good point, and i take that into account when i make other models, but im purposley making this one brand new looking and not worn because I want it to apear as if it was just off the production line. I plan to animate it like it was being advertised on tv for RCA ;] thanks

I don't agree....

well, if we would talk about a 2 year old mp3 player.....well yes than there not perfect anymore...
but these products are allways perfect!! wheter it is a mobile or digital camera...

....and I think the thing bahearn wants to do is a commurcial scene with the pefect lines with the perfect lightsetting as you will see the same thing in every magazine, tv, or every other commurcial spot...

btw nice scene allready...play around a bit more with lights cause that will make the scene! ;)

problem

Hey guys, making some progress with the textures. One problem I have is the wire renders out as jagged/not smooth. In the scne file it looks fine, and i have a high amount of cv's in the curve and have rebuilt the nurb surface above what would have smoothed it out. Does anyone know why maya renders it jagged? I'm just using maya software now w/ raytracing , no MR but that shouldnt be a problem. Thanks! Any other Comments/Critiques?

increase the tessaletion.in the shape node of the wire. the default is medium with 4.5 set for the UV division factor.
and u might want to check on smooth edge option also.
If u want there is even an advanced tab for more control.

very nice but i think u need to put more details insted of textures, The play, stop... button does not look realistic

ransick 14-08-2004 08:34 PM
