Thanks Kurt! Nice to see the creator of the tutorial has a keen interest on the progress of his students :)

Anyways, not sure if i'm correct to the tutorial or not, the 2nd part finished and i just got into it and converted and merged etc :P so it it's wrong it's my fault :D

Kurt 12-04-2004 11:37 PM

Looks pretty good mate... the main thing i see that needs a bit more tweaking is his knee area but thats minor... pull some the the verts to smooth them out a bit.

Chest and arms are looking pretty good.

Keep going...

Zyk0tiK 13-04-2004 06:36 PM

well i give up, the tutorial is good, but i suck, too advanced for me, got bored of my stuff looking like crap

Kurt 13-04-2004 06:49 PM

dude dont stop..... best way to learn is to keep trying you can do it I believe in you... your model looks just like mine at the same point...

Keep working on it..

Kevin 13-04-2004 07:11 PM

keep it up dude!

watch the same part a few times mate, it will come mate - i promise ya :)

DanaScully 13-04-2004 07:50 PM

i totally understand how he feels. I've been TRYING to learn Maya on my own for a few months now, but i start something, then i get stuck, then it gets too complicated, and finally i give it up.
I am trying to get a head start cuz i start my maya classes in college in the Fall.
But dude, keep going, looks better than anything i've made as a newbie :D

If you only put 20% in, you only get 20% out ;)

Keep practacing.

Zyk0tiK 14-04-2004 09:13 AM

Maybe you're right, it's just the hand, my hand looked like right royal s**t, annoyed the hell out of me after about 4 hours work, i suck :(

Kurt 14-04-2004 02:57 PM

hand take time mate... trust me.....they are one of the hardest things to master... like i said in the tut.. hands are like a a new model.... I usally spend a ton of time on them even more then 4 hours..

You can do it

rotbol 14-04-2004 04:24 PM

looking good so far Zyk0tiK!!

4 hours on the hand? thats just ok! :) im pushing 6 or 7 hours on a foot for my pinup girl and im still not sadisfied.

being a beginner with maya is pretty hard.. the program can do all that amazing stuff and you just want to dive into it all at once (memories of the little rooms filled with plastic balls in McDonalds flashing by).

Take your time.. the learning curve is steap at some points, but eventually, if you keep pushing you'll move above and beyond :D

Looking forward to see more :)

Kurt 14-04-2004 06:59 PM

dude they look pretty good........ especially for you first shot at them........ The only thing i woudl try is widen them up a bit but other then that great start on the hands....

Jay 14-04-2004 07:38 PM

Hi Kurt

how is is possible to contribute to tutorials, because I'd maybe like to try one because I think everyone has given me such positive feedback with my 'Sheriff Sub d head' I'd like to give back a bit if you know what I mean

Thanx

Jango

Kurt 14-04-2004 07:52 PM

Jango you would have to contact Kevin or Dave... thye are the owners and do all the hiring....

doodle 14-04-2004 10:39 PM

Kevin made a great hand tutorial. Have ago at it and maybe it'll help you out with the hand in this model. It certanly helped me.

Zyk0tiK 14-04-2004 11:47 PM

that's what i used to do the hand :P the explanation kurt gave was good, but it just didnt work for me... Kev's was somehow easier.
