okay well here are the most recent updates. i'm off to go to movies, but when i'm back hopefully i'll finish the rest of the horns on the head.

there is something weird about the horns that i can't really put my finger on. if someone could point out what makes them look a bit weird (maybe the angle?).

if u need enlarged picture just ask

looking good altho it looks like you have everything in different parts even the mouth do you plan on attaching these on to it later?

vagyb 05-08-2004 03:54 PM

ya thats the basic idea hehe. hopefully i'll convert them to polygons and then do the same thing that was done in the dog tutorial. i'm very new to maya so i have no idea if this will work or not.

was wonderin if someone could tell me what is a better way of doing this, because i'm worried maybe i can not do textures if its in this way.

mrmacca 05-08-2004 04:00 PM

Well you're going to convert to poly so you'll be ok if you can UV map.

vagyb 05-08-2004 04:59 PM

haha i guess its time to learn to UV map :D. i read some tutorials online but couldn't figure anything out. i have like month and half left to figure out how to do texturing :S

mtmckinley 05-08-2004 05:00 PM

finish modeling before trying to UV map.

vagyb 05-08-2004 05:31 PM

omg guys i finally figured out why this model didn't feel right. i'm fixing everything up again and will post screenshots very soon. so far the new model feels very right :D wit very little errors.

hopefully i can have enough time today post some updated screenshots.

Looks verry nice! Keep it up!

vagyb 06-08-2004 02:37 PM

thanks, hopefully today i'll start giving more detail to the head.
i was just wondering if someone could tell me how i could bend the top part of the head (where horns r coming from) so its curvy cuz thats how their heads are. i would apreciate it if someone gave me a few ways to do it.

jsprogg 06-08-2004 04:59 PM

Ok this might be a little over your head but it really is the best way to do it . Select the part of your model you want to bend and then go to the animation menu set and then under the deform tab select little box next to create Lattice , add a few divisions in the 3 boxes ( ie 3 or 4 ) and then hit create...this will give you a wire box around your object and you can right click on this and select lattice points .Once you have the points highlighted you can move them and your object will deform to follow the shape you create with the wire box. Once you are satisfied with the shape select your object and delete the history and the lattice (wire box ) will disappear.
