Nice. I'm liking it.

metallicjet66 19-03-2005 02:41 AM

if u look at the picture carefully, it looks a but cartoony, so i made the bot more towards dark blue, to make it look more realistic, im gonna post some poses, but for the final bot post threads, ill have my arms with the robot

mhcannon 20-03-2005 06:57 AM

looking pretty cool. Waiting so see it standing tall now...it'd be hard to walk crouched as it is. Crouched look menacing, in this case a good thing. Tall it should look imposing, also a good thing. Maybe some additional lights. The headlight could use a light and what about the classic red and blue (or some places just bule) flashing light? Keep up the nice work.

caligraphics 20-03-2005 08:11 AM

This is truly great work

Well done !

frankenstein 20-03-2005 10:08 AM

I was going to try something too but I suppose my drawings are just some jokes compared with yours. This is really good.

metallicjet66 20-03-2005 02:31 PM

nay, go for it. The better the competition, the more you push yourself, the more you learn.

metallicjet66 21-03-2005 12:47 AM

YES....i want competition here, if someone wins easily, it doesnt feel like u really won, when there is real competition, thats when the fun begins;)

gohan1842 21-03-2005 02:09 AM

Really nice. I like the brighter shader. Gives it a good look and for when it's in dark. I really can't wait to see the environment you are going to place this in. I'm thinking a back alley.

metallicjet66 21-03-2005 03:49 PM

theres a bit of a problem, after i put my police lights on, everything started going slow, cuz i put lots of detailed features on the lights with the police lights

so im gonna have to take it off, and there is only gonna be headlights....

but one good thing, lets say theres a crime, and then the bot starts running towards them, if the criminals sees the police lights, there gonna start runnin away, and the bot wont have to run acroos the street....it will jump across roofs and climb walls with the arm..so the police lights arent needed, and my pc cant handle too many lights:(

still got the headlight:)

i re-did my leg..here it is, im still working on it, and then im gonna add details to my body

mhcannon 24-03-2005 12:32 AM

I think the design was fine. Be happy that you finished so quickly. If you want to eat up more time, try painting a texture map for it, build an environment for it, or develop the controls for the skeletal rigging and get it animated. You can use the time to push your skills and learn more. Just my two cents.

Great work btw.

looking great so far, Metallicjet. Just a bit of refining on the body -> leg pivot and maybe something more on the lower leg. Keep up the good work :D

ok...more progress, now im gonna start makin the insides of the bot, and make the glass transparent so everyone can see

gohan1842 25-03-2005 02:47 PM

Really nice. Can't wait to see the insides. Why is your last post so long but empty expect for the pictures. Or is it just me?

metallicjet66 25-03-2005 03:50 PM

guess somethin went wrong with the last pic. but its not that important

thatdudeyoulove 25-03-2005 06:17 PM

Model is looking good. Please try to keep pictures at 640 * 480 or smaller.

metallicjet66 25-03-2005 09:00 PM

i know i know, but that kinda sux doesnt? oh well

heres the inside of my bot...

thatdudeyoulove 25-03-2005 09:16 PM

Yeah 640 by 480 does suck. But it isn't as bad if you get as much of the model in the picture as possible. For example there is alot of extra area around your picture above. Try zooming in some and the moderators will love you forever........maybe.

thatdudeyoulove 25-03-2005 09:17 PM

O yeah and the model is looking good. I don't see they want me to go norm but haven't said anything to you. Anways good luck with the model! Cheers!

Funky Bunnies 25-03-2005 11:07 PM

lol possibly because he's only had maya for 1 month ;). it's looking good, Metallicjet :D just something seems to be missing with it...just a bit of detail and you'll be golden. keep it up, man.

(P.S. - yes. I agree, 640x480 is very small. It's very hard to see details and I think we all may need to adjust for the low quality renders in order to most efficiently go about our robots.)

Pony 25-03-2005 11:20 PM

still looking good.

yeah I agree about the 640x480. I think it was do to a size on the server consideration why that was desided on. Personaly I think they should alow larger sizes if the image is remot linked off personal web server.

thatdudeyoulove 26-03-2005 12:47 AM

I believe it is ok for larger images if they are remote linked.
