Looks like you and I are working on very similar concepts. I'm still in the building stages of mine...getting rough models together to place in the scene to get some lighting effects down. Scary bedroom....scary lights...figure in the window. I'm still real new to Maya so it will take me a while to get mine done....but I really like what you've come up with so far.
Did you use text effects to get those letters on the blocks and dresser or did you manually extrude them? I like the curtain effects you have too. I havent gotten to my curtains yet I was waiting to complete a tutorial on cloth and using forces. Super shadow effect on the floor! Great idea. |
I really liked your cast-shadow idea! I think maybe instead of out the window like it was previously suggested, it'd be even better being cast on the intended victim/target of your evil creature. Like a huddled figure under some bed covers or something.. But regardless, looking great so far!

YES! Kid under the covers huddled up and scared! Good idea.

Yeah vim is good for a noob. He/she must of learned alot in a very short time! But we don't know how good vim is at character modeling yet.
Looking good vim, keep up the good work:) |
thx man but Im start to work with maya in december 2004 . after that i dont work with order 3d software.
|
Oh I see, you have experience from other 3d programs, that explains why you know how to model good, its just using maya's tools to do so, which is the noob part for you.
By the way Total Rookie, this is not a modeling challenge, its a lighting challenge. But its nice to have a good looking scene to shine light on:) |
