Texture Zoom

mtmckinley 12-07-2005 01:45 PM

nice curtain texture!

I suggest increasing the anti-aliasing quality of your renders. Also, giving most if not all hard edges a slight bevel.

Nice job so far!

On this picture a draw for a test in photoshop a monster or ghost, and desaturate the picture, just for the look...;)

Tiago2 12-07-2005 06:23 PM

Nice shadow! I think u should stick to something showing more of the window thou. Like in one of your previous pictures. u could have a figure of a monster on a hill or something. with a bright flash or light behind. Like a moon or lighting, making the monster look like a shadow. This is what i mean -> http://www.blackwolf.com/blackwolf-logo.png

vim 12-07-2005 06:37 PM

thx for your idea..;) I try to find a good tech, for a good and nice render.

Tiago2 12-07-2005 07:22 PM

Another idea is u could have the curtains closed and have the shadow showing on the curtain. Just a random idea... Its up to u thou.

vim 12-07-2005 07:35 PM

 thx man good idea

Tiago2 12-07-2005 07:44 PM

a Small update

Skeksi 13-07-2005 09:54 AM

Looks like you and I are working on very similar concepts. I'm still in the building stages of mine...getting rough models together to place in the scene to get some lighting effects down. Scary bedroom....scary lights...figure in the window. I'm still real new to Maya so it will take me a while to get mine done....but I really like what you've come up with so far.

Did you use text effects to get those letters on the blocks and dresser or did you manually extrude them? I like the curtain effects you have too. I havent gotten to my curtains yet I was waiting to complete a tutorial on cloth and using forces.

Super shadow effect on the floor! Great idea.

niasyn 13-07-2005 12:55 PM

I really liked your cast-shadow idea! I think maybe instead of out the window like it was previously suggested, it'd be even better being cast on the intended victim/target of your evil creature. Like a huddled figure under some bed covers or something.. But regardless, looking great so far!

Skeksi 13-07-2005 01:02 PM

YES! Kid under the covers huddled up and scared! Good idea.

vim 13-07-2005 01:48 PM

For this Im import the shape from font create/text after im import the shape, after select this shape and surface/bevel plus. that it..

Total Rookie 13-07-2005 09:06 PM

Oh, man, I can't believe u're a No0B!! U're so damn good!! I'll have no chances of beatin' u here!!

vedic kings 13-07-2005 09:12 PM

Yeah vim is good for a noob. He/she must of learned alot in a very short time! But we don't know how good vim is at character modeling yet.

Looking good vim, keep up the good work:)

vim 14-07-2005 05:38 AM

thx man but Im start to work with maya in december 2004 . after that i dont work with order 3d software.

vedic kings 14-07-2005 06:04 AM

Oh I see, you have experience from other 3d programs, that explains why you know how to model good, its just using maya's tools to do so, which is the noob part for you.

By the way Total Rookie, this is not a modeling challenge, its a lighting challenge. But its nice to have a good looking scene to shine light on:)
