Thats it for today...I'll continue tommorow!

Oh my God look at that big low res leg waiting to be attachet!!!
Attach me--> she says
No way bic.h I'm too tired!!!

If you dont wonna fight with geometry allways plan the flow in futher- I just found out that paintfully.
Most of the day I spent trying to get nice geometry flow, but still I have couple of tris :-( :headbang: God damn it!!!!

Here is where I'll pause untill next time, take care!

And one more thing->get the Zbrush, get it!
If you dont wonna spend your life pulling vertices around get it fast.

This is just a preview-imagine what would Zbrush do wit 5 mil. polys?!

After playing with sculptPoly tool for 1min and 12 sec:

What exactly does Zbrush do?

it just helps add detail into the models, very effective if you know how to use it... but takes a while to get use to lol...

not a bad start, will be keeping tabs on this one.

Not much for today (was at work) but I got the leg's basic flow ready.

I cant wait to finish basic shape so I can finaly add some detail wich will give him real organic look (I hope so)...o damn I forgot about laying out UVs... :headbang:

I heard it works with straight polygons, is this true? Bascially like a powerful polygon brush modeling tool thing?

darijo203 05-10-2005 04:04 PM

Yes it works with polys but in huge poly count in 5 levels of division,so you can jump from 1000 to 1000000 and back just by clicking.

As I understand it works in Z depth so it doesnt calculate polys in 3D and thats why is so fast and interactive...I gess.
Great for organic modeling, its like you're sculpting with a brush but it doesnt have a renderer so it best to use it with some 3D package like Maya.

Any way it is becoming one of "must have" CG tool.

Sorry 4 not updateing-I'm pritty buisy

update, man. your t rex is looking good.
though, i think the ridges on your head might be a bit too prominent..
would make for nice animation..

Nice model

just to clear a few things up about ZBrush, basically it is a modeling and detailing package, you can either make your model in ZBrush or bring a poly cage in from another app, at the moment it can handle around 2 million polys with ease, what basically happens is you drop your model to the canvas where it basically becomes like photoshop only you can use brushes to push and pull points you ca then use this as a normal map or displacement map to add to model in another program or render stright from ZBrush, which does have a very nice render if you spend the time learning how to use it effectivly

What a weekend!

Sorry 4 waiting, my job just doesn give me much time 4 CG!!!

Ok,shape is still rough,no details, surface is pritty flat and smooth,I will get on that once my loops look OK and I will start increasing resolution where's needed and fixing shape, head and legs...

Feet were pain cuz too much eges will go from them to the upper part of leg,so it'll be while until I fix that, yeep I got a lot of work to do.

Any way here's model so far:
